Dr. Smolensky will serve alongside cardiologist Mark Dorogy, MD and his specialties are general cardiology, preventive and sports cardiology, heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, critical care, cardiac imaging, vascular medicine, internal medicine, and congenital heart disease. Dr. Smolensky is board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine.
Allison graduated from Columbus State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and later received a Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University. She is a highly skilled nurse practitioner with over 13 years of experience in nursing. She has been with Upson Regional Medical Center since 2009.
Dr. Ben Williams graduated from Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University in 1986 and has been in practice for over 32 years. He earned a Doctor of Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia and completed his residency at Carolinas Healthcare System, formally known as Charlotte Memorial Hospital. Dr. Williams specializes in Internal Medicine.
By increasing the access to quality healthcare, Brandi Swatts graduated from Georgia College and State University in Macon with a Master of Science in Nursing, received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, and received her diploma in nursing from Gordon College in Barnesville.
Bridget Barrow, NP received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Georgia Southwestern State University. She received her Master’s degree in nursing from Albany State University. She has over ten years experience as a nurse practitioner in obstetrics and gynecology, oncology, and pediatrics.
Young graduated with a Master’s of Science in Nursing at South University. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing at Gordon State College. Previously, she was a charge nurse in the Special Care Unit at Upson Regional Medical Center and a nurse practitioner at McIntosh Trail CSB. Candice has two children, Stephanie and Cheyenne, and they reside in Thomaston.
Dr. Noguera practices Family Medicine and is devoted to comprehensive care of all ages, with special interests in women’s health and pediatrics. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at Georgetown University-Providence Hospital in Washington D.C., and interned at Navicent Health in Macon in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Fussell is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and has additional training in advanced cardiovascular and pediatric life support. He also was the recipient of the Physician Leadership and Advocacy Certificate and the Professional Promise Award, which honors undergraduate and graduate students who demonstrate professional promise in teaching, research or other contributions. He is a Captain and family physician in the US Army Reserve and he is also working on a private pilot’s license.
Specializing in the field of Urology, Dr. Dan Bridges s is prepared to diagnose and treat various disorders and diseases relating to the urinary tract.Dr. Bridges uses state of the art diagnostic equipment and advanced treatment techniques including laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures to manage all urological problems in men, women and children.Dr. Bridges provides treatment for various types of diseases and disorders including urinary tract infections, kidney stones and incontinence, among others.
Dr. Knight is originally from East Point, Ga., and earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Fort Valley State University before acceptance to the Morehouse School of Medicine. Dr. Knight has completed five years of residency, with rotations at Columbus Regional Medical Center, Scottish Rite, Grady, and Atlanta Medical Center South.
Dr. Thomson has 30 years of practice experience in ENT/otolaryngology, specializing in ear, nose, and throat care, nasal and sinus conditions, sleep apnea, and hearing loss. Dr. Thomson earned his bachelor’s degree from Williams College in Williamstown, MA. He earned his M.D. from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, NY
Haney earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Berry College in Rome, GA and her medical degree from Mercer University in 1997. She completed her family medicine internship and residency at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood, South Carolina. Haney is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Zubernis has over 25 years of practice experience in general obstetrics and gynecology, operative and cesarean deliveries, and open and laparoscopic gynecologic surgery with an emphasis on minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Zubernis earned his bachelor’s degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathy degree and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Thomaston’s own Jess Rogers is with Upson Surgical Associates as a Physician Assistant under the supervision of Dr. Robert Solyomvari and Dr. Darryl Knight. In 2011, he earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from the University of Georgia. While waiting to apply for PA school, Jess worked part-time at St. Mary’s Health Care System in Athens as a patient transporter in order to gain more hands-on patient care experience.
Jessica graduated from LaGrange College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She then earned her Master of Science in Nursing at South University in Savannah, GA. Jessica was a charge nurse in the Upson Regional Medical Center emergency department from 2014-2019. She is Trauma Nurse Care Course Certified and has BLS, ACLS & PALS certifications.
Kelli Bryant has more than 14 years experience and will serve the Pike community in family practice, while continuing to offer services in both women’s health and facial aesthetics. Her supervising physician will be John Jenkins, MD, of Upson Family Physicians in Thomaston.
Dr. Kerry B. Evans graduated with her Doctorate in Audiology from Auburn University and is a licensed audiologist helping people achieve healthy hearing. Board Certified and well experienced, she is committed to helping patients find a solution to their hearing issues that is right for their needs, lifestyle, and budget. Her areas of interest include diagnostic testing, hearing instrument assessment and outstanding follow-up care.
Dr. Gingrich has over 25 years of practice experience in general orthopedics, total joint arthroplasty, trauma and sports medicine. Dr. Gingrich earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his Doctor of Medicine Degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he received commendation in orthopedic surgery. He then did his internship in general surgery and his residency in orthopedic surgery at Hahnemann University Hospital.
A Fayetteville native, Howard is experienced in therapeutic procedures, including injections, casting and splinting; and as a first assistant in arthroscopic and open surgical procedures, including knee arthroscopy, rotator cuff repair, carpal tunnel release, and joint replacement surgery.
Dr. Dorogy practiced cardiology in Macon. He received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. Dr. Dorogy’s scope of practice includes Diagnostic Heart Cath’s, Pace Maker Implants, TEE’s, Cardioversions, Stress Tests, Echos, as well as General and Consultative Cardiology.
Dr. Fussell practices family medicine and is committed to providing comprehensive health care to patients of all ages. Appointments are currently available to establish care. Her interests include pediatrics (family visits welcome), women’s health with experience in IUD insertions and removal, birth control implants, and annual screenings, weight loss expertise, and adult primary care, including diabetes management and hypertension. Dr. Fussell earned her bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University and her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. She did her residency at the University of Tennessee in Nashville.
Rhonda Brooks is a certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. With degrees from Gordon and Emory, Brooks has more than 35 years experience in nursing and is a trusted health care professional at Upson Women’s Services, where she has supervised the health of women since 1991. Most recently, she has earned specialty in fertility assessment and treatment.
Dr. Solyomvari has nearly 20 years of experience in general, laparoscopic, and vascular surgery and has served Upson and surrounding communities for nearly a decade. He is Board Certified and a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons.Dr. Solyomvari and his wife, Jana, reside in Pike County.
Born and raised in Barnesville, Sean is an Emory-trained Physicians Assistant with more than 14 years experience in pediatrics and family medicine. Previously, he practiced with Pediatric Associates of Thomaston for nine years and almost five years with Barnesville Urgent Care and Family Medicine. Today, he practices alongside Trish Hall, MD, of Upson Family Physicians.
Suzanne graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She then earned her Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati. Suzanne is certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American Heart Association ACLS Provider, American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR, Advanced Stroke Life Support Provider, and Department of Transportation Federal Provider.
A native of Kennesaw, GA, Dr. Hall earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Georgia. She completed undergraduate degree at North Georgia College and State University. Dr. Hall has specialty in pediatrics, adult and geriatric medicine. She and her husband, Joseph, and their son, James, live in Thomaston.
